There are three basic principles in the practice of law:

Respect. Reason. Results.

Respect
As your attorney, Jonathan R. Berry will always treat you and your family with respect. Many years ago, one of Mr. Berry’s mentors explained that when a person makes the decision to retain an attorney, s/he is experiencing one of their very worst moments in life. Unfortunately, over the past decade, Mr. Berry has learned that this wise advice was all too true.

The decision to retain an attorney can be complicated by a wide variety of factors. Mr. Berry has heard a variety of explanations of why the client did not consult an attorney before a problem spiraled out of control:

~ "I was embarrassed…."
~ "I felt like a fool…."
~ "I just thought I could explain my side and [the problem] would go away…."
~ "I didn’t think that I should bother you with such a small problem…."

Really, the list is endless, but the messages were the same: The clients were too embarrassed, too proud, too frustrated or too humiliated. Mr. Berry recognizes this and it is his first aim to provide you with the respect and dignity that you deserve. Once your respect and dignity are restored, together, we can set out to correct the problem that you are facing.

Reason
Confusion and conflict go hand-in-hand in the legal process. Therefore, it is Mr. Berry’s duty to be your voice of reason in these times of conflict. One of Mr. Berry’s first objectives will be to identify what your goals and expectations are. Mr. Berry will then craft a strategy to meet your goals and expectations, explain the steps of the process, and then discuss what the anticipated results will be. Any discussion of anticipated results will be based on a combination of Mr. Berry’s experience and knowledge of the law. Once all of your questions are answered and you fully appreciate your options, we will be able to make principled and reasoned decisions that are in your best interests.

Results
Mr. Berry is an aggressive, trial-oriented attorney with experience handling complicated and contentious cases. He is accustomed to the rigors of trial and the challenges posed by litigation.

It is Mr. Berry’s view that hard work and early preparation yield the very best results for his clients. Should you choose to trust Mr. Berry to represent your interests, you can have faith that no one will work harder to secure the best possible outcome for you!
